Main patio areas
A main patio outside the house is usually the most used space in the garden. We’ll make sure it’s sized sensibly for your furniture, with neat edges to lawns, gravel or borders.
A well-laid patio makes the most of your garden, whether it’s a simple seating area outside the back doors or a larger space with steps, paths and raised areas. Premier Paving Services install sandstone and porcelain patios with proper bases, neat cuts and sensible falls so water drains away from your home.
Regularly working in East Grinstead, Crawley, Horley, Redhill, Reigate, Tunbridge Wells, Sevenoaks, Tonbridge and surrounding areas.
Whether you need somewhere to sit outside the back doors, a family barbecue area or paths linking different parts of the garden, we can design and lay paving to suit.

Steps, paths and small landings can be built in matching sandstone or porcelain so everything ties together, making access easier and safer around the property.
We can also create smaller seating areas at the end of the garden, paved bases for sheds or summerhouses and other practical spaces that make the garden more usable.
A few recent patios showing the difference between natural sandstone and modern porcelain paving. All laid on proper bases with neat pointing and careful detailing around doors, drains and edges.
A good patio is about more than just the slabs. The base underneath, falls away from the house and the quality of the cuts and pointing all make a big difference to how it looks and performs over time.
We excavate to the correct depth and install a compacted sub-base before laying the patio. Levels are set so water runs away from the house towards suitable drainage points, planted areas or gravel.
Where needed, we can install channels or soakaways and deal with existing gullies, manholes or air bricks sensibly.
Slabs are laid on an appropriate full bed or suitable adhesive (for porcelain), with attention to consistent joints and neat cuts at boundaries, around posts and along steps.
Joints are pointed or grouted to suit the material, helping to keep everything stable and tidy underfoot.
A few common questions from homeowners in Sussex, Surrey and Kent considering a new patio or garden paving.
Sandstone has a more natural, traditional feel with varied colours, while porcelain gives a very clean, modern look and is generally lower maintenance. We can show samples on site and talk through what will suit your property best.
Smaller patios can often be completed within a few days, while larger areas with steps, walls or complex shapes may take a week or more. We’ll give a sensible timeframe with your quotation.
In many cases we can match or come very close to existing slabs if you are extending a patio or path. We’ll take a look on site and advise what is possible.
Most sandstone has a natural texture that gives reasonable grip. Porcelain slabs are available in outdoor-rated finishes designed to be more slip resistant. We only use suitable products for external use.
